Fifty Shades Of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic novel by British author E. L. James. Set largely in Seattle, it is the first instalment in a trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey. It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, and sadism/masochism (BDSM).

E L James named PW's Publishing Person of the Year!!!

Friday, November 30, 2012 0 comments

E L James, the author of the Fifty Shades trilogy, has been named Publishers Weekly's Publishing Person of the Year for 2012. James, the pen name of Erika Leonard, became the author of the fastest-selling adult series of all time after her erotic trilogy, initially posted online as Twilight fan fiction, became a massive viral hit. The series
was acquired by Random House's Vintage unit in March and the books--Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed--have sold over 35 million copies in the U.S. alone (combined print and digital), bringing in more than $200 million in revenue to the publisher. Because the success of the series continues to reverberate throughout the industry in a number of ways--among other things, the money it's brought in helped boost print sales in bookstores and turned erotic fiction into a hot category--we have selected James as the most notable player on the publishing stage this year.

Congratulations E L James.

Our Exclusive Interview With Lauren Watson.

Thursday, October 4, 2012 2 comments

Many fans of Fifty Shades Of Grey suggested Lauren Watson as Ana Steele. Here is our exclusive interview with her .
Thank you Lauren,
admins.
1.Do you want to play Ana's role? If yes ,why? If the opportunity to play Ana came my way, I would love to portray her. She is just a normal girl who unwillingly gets herself into a situation that completely and extremely changes her life. I think it would be a great role to play.
2.Have you read the books and If yes what did you think of them? I have read the books. It didn't take me very long to get through them, I couldn't put them down! I'm a sucker for a love story and Ana and Christian certainly have a unique one!!
3.Which was your favorite scene in the books that you would like to see come to life? I like the initial scenes where Ana and Christian first meet and when he comes to see her at her workplace. I like when Ana goes on the jet ski without telling Christian. I want to see the scenes where Christian opens up to Ana about his past. And... No, there are just too many to list haha I just want to see it all smile.
4.Do you like fans' interest about you as Ana Steele? The fans have been absolutely amazing. The fans who want me as Ana Steele are just incredible! I interact with everyone as much as I can on Facebook/Twitter. I love talking with them, chatting about the books/movie, asking and answering questions. It's amazing. I love it. They blow my mind and I am so grateful to them because they are doing so much for me.
5.Who would be your perfect Christian Grey? I can't choose!! There are so many good actors who could fill Christian's shoes; as there are actresses who could play Ana! But I really like Chace Crawford, Jessie Pavelka and Matt Bomer.
6.Which book of the trilogy is your favorite? Fifty Shades Darker for sure!

E L James on The Classic FM Interview

Fifty Shades of Grey author E L James spent an hour in the company of Nick Ferrari for The Classic FM Interview.
E L James didn't start writing until she was in her 40s when three years ago, she began to pen Fifty Shades of Grey. The book went onto sell 5.5 million copies and was the first in the Fifty Shades trilogy. She has now sold the rights to the Fifty Shades film and has been included in Time Magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
James is, quite simply, a publishing phenomenon – and in this fascinating interview, she talks candidly about the inspiration behind her unbelievably successful 'Fifty Shades' book trilogy and her ambition to make classical music more accessible.

INTERVIEW: EL James On Katie Couric Show

Nobody knew what to expect on September 17 when E L James sat down for her first major interview in America. A leather clad Katie Couric devoted her entire one-hour show to the best-selling author and neither ladies let down fans. The show was entertaining and insightful. James was open about her shyness and it was obvious she got very uncomfortable with racy questions, especially those that pertained to her own sex life. Yet when it came to defending her books, the author was right on point.
Katie Couric did not shy away from asking the tough questions. Some critics have worried that the relationship between Christian and Ana borders on abusive. E L James defends her characters saying, "everything that happens in them is safe, sane and consensual" and that critics are "demonizing women that enjoy these types of relationships." Katie Couric also reiterated that the author thinks equating their relationship to an abusive one does a disservice to women who are actually abused. Moving on to some even more uncomfortable questioning, Katie asked her to respond to those who say that the books are not well written. The first time author joked, "I've sold lots of books so somebody likes it." It was obvious that James was being more defensive than cocky and followed up by saying she tries to ignore the critics and write for herself. She also commented that the books are already written and nobody is going to go back and change them, so what is the point of all the criticism, a witty fact that will make fans like her even more.

The interview can be seen on KatieCouric.com and is a must watch for "greysessed" fans.
